Next Steps

Do you have dental concerns for your pet?

If you’re here because you’re concerned about your pet’s symptoms, we can help. It’s completely natural to worry about your furry family members, and many conditions can be successfully treated when caught early. If you’re considering specialist dental care for your pet, we strongly recommend starting with your primary care veterinarian.

Your primary care veterinarian has a complete understanding of your pet’s health history and overall wellbeing. Keeping them involved in the process is crucial, and we specialise in working collaboratively with vets to ensure the best outcome for each patient. While we’ll never turn away a concerned pet owner, it’s always best to consult your veterinarian before scheduling an appointment at Advanced Animal Dentistry.

Our referral process is simple

If specialist pet dental care is recommended after consulting with your primary care veterinarian, your vet should contact us. This may involve a formal written referral or a simple phone call to proceed with the process.

For the referral, we need a brief description of the reason for the referral, treatment expectations, an up-to-date medical history, any relevant radiographs or photographs, and a list of underlying health issues or comorbidities. Understanding your pet’s overall health is crucial, as all dental procedures require general anaesthesia. This information can be submitted via an online form or emailed directly. Once the referral is sent, please call us at 1300 TOOTHVET (1300 866 848) between 9am – 5pm on weekdays to book an appointment.

Extensive pet dental resources

Our website offers a wealth of resources and information to help you identify potential dental issues in your pets. Some conditions can be effectively managed by your primary veterinarian and may not require specialist care, so we encourage you to consult with them first.

However, if your pet is showing symptoms, it’s important not to ignore them. We’re here to help, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns.

If you still need guidance or recommendations, give our friendly client liaison team a call, and they’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.
