Wendy graduated from Massey University in New Zealand in 2003 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She completed internships at a private referral practice in Auckland and at the University of Pennsylvania, before undertaking a residency in small animal surgery at Purdue University. Wendy completed her residency in 2009 and achieved board certification as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2011.
She spent three years as an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine before relocating to Australia in 2012. Since 2019, she has been a valued member of the surgery team at Veterinary Specialist Services, Underwood.
Wendy has a strong interest in maxillofacial surgery, particularly advanced oral and reconstructive procedures. Her other surgical passions include biliary and urogenital surgery, as well as wound management. She is dedicated to teaching and is actively involved in continuing education for veterinarians.
Outside of work, Wendy leads an active lifestyle and regularly competes in triathlons. At home, she is kept entertained by her two much-loved cats: Theo, a tubby black and white boy, and Spud, a mischievous ginger ninja.
