Patient Information
Name: Bundy
Age: 4 years old
Breed: Springer Spaniel
Gender: Male, Neutered
Presenting Problem
Bundy presented with advanced periodontal disease, which resulted in multiple extractions at a young age.
Diagnostics and Treatment
The treatment approach involved selective extractions of diseased teeth to reduce overcrowding, stabilise the periodontal disease, and preserve strategic teeth. This required Bundy’s owner to commit to daily tooth brushing and regular professional cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain oral health and prevent further disease progression.
Outcome
Bundy’s response to the treatment was outstanding, with a remarkable boost in his oral health. His periodontal disease stabilised, and we saw a significant improvement in the attachment levels of his gums, especially in the right mandibular carnassial region (409). This progress is a testament to the owner’s commitment to Bundy’s wellbeing, reflected in their daily care and regular vet visits.
