Sophie, Client Care Specialist
BVetTech
Hi, I’m Sophie. I love the variety that comes with working with pets and their owners and knowing I’m making a difference.
Before officially joining Advanced Animal Dentistry, I spent five years in specialty nursing, regularly working alongside the dental team. I assisted with anaesthetics and loved caring for patients during their treatment.
The more time I spent doing this, the more interested I became in veterinary dentistry. It really does make a huge difference to animals and improves their quality of life!
Over the years, helping pets feel comfortable, safe and cared for during what can be an uncertain time for both them and their owners has become my real passion. The most rewarding part of my job is knowing I’ve played a role in bringing animals comfort, reducing their pain and helping them return home feeling like the best version of themselves.
My role at AAD as a Client Care Specialist is wonderfully varied. On any given day, I might be assisting Dr Bec and Dr Aaron with nursing duties, supporting clients throughout their pet’s treatment journey, helping with administration or putting together social media posts about what’s happening behind the scenes. No two days are ever the same, and every day brings new experiences and opportunities to learn. For me, that’s the perfect fit.
One of the most memorable experiences of my career so far was caring for a beautiful dog that required daily treatments. It was not only incredibly rewarding to watch the dog’s health improve through the care I helped provide, but as time went on, I formed a really strong bond with both the patient and its owner. This turned into a lasting friendship, and today our dogs even go to daycare together!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family and, of course, hanging out with my Golden Retriever, Millie. She’s two years old with a personality that’s larger than life, loves meeting new people and is happiest when she’s zooming around the house at high speed. Millie’s also more than happy to be a regular visitor at the clinic and is very fond of the whole dental team.
